Have you ever thought about your life and wondered "what if...?"
Not that we could ever really change any of our past...
And so many will tell us that we learn important lessons in all that we experience - good or bad, success or failure, right or wrong.
There are many "points" in my past where I sometimes revisit what happened and play that 'what if' game. Such times usually come about when my energy is low, my pain is high, and I'm unable to actually do what I would like to be doing. I fight daily to do things I've never been able to do before. I fight against my past. I fight against my present. I keep on fighting for my future! I fight against fibromyalgia, against myofascial pain syndrome, against chronic fatigue syndrome, against osteoarthritis, against chronic kidney disease - a nephrotic syndrome called minimal change disorder, and against a mysterious issue of multiple lesions in my brain of unknown etiology. I fight about multiple allergens: peanuts, wheat, rye, barley, dairy, corn, soy, walnuts, shellfish, contrast dyes, tetracyclines, alcohol, and more. I never know when the next new allergy is going to show itself! I'm more cautious now than I used to be.
I strive for a safer life: avoiding harsh chemicals, avoiding gluten in everything, avoiding GMOs, artificial foods & food additives, avoiding toxins and toxic people, avoiding all those things that have in some way been identified as dangerous to my own personal well-being. It's hard to maintain diligence and not just quit - give up - stop trying to make my life better!
But what would be the alternative? If I don't fight to make and keep my world safe then nothing else is worthwhile - nothing!

365 ~ DAY 287 (oops)
Well, so much for 2 posts yesterday! :(
The day ended up being a lot busier than I first thought it would be. All this technology can be frustrating some days! It's nice to have my laptop sort of back but annoying that not everything is working like I want it. I wish we had something that combines what I like about the tablets with what I like about laptops and desktops.
Some of those technology issues remind me of some of my own challenges. It's not possible to explain it all in one blog post but in my quest to do all that it seems I must do reminders abound of how much less I am able to do these days! For so many years I was the one coaching, and coaxing, a little one to press onward, to not give, to find a way to do it! Now, I'm the one who needs that coaching & coaxing. Just wish I had someone like me to do it!

365 ~ DAY 286 (a day late)
Sorry this one is late, but I plan to do 2 today. :)
Just wanted to get something in here for Day 286. It was a challenging day. The first of the month always is; there are bills to pay, accounts to balance, transfers to initiate, and of course, some shopping to do.
This month we added helping my X to get his first haircut since May when he was rushed into life-saving surgery, battling a flesh-eating bacteria, and came out of it only losing his right leg (instead of his life). He's still adjusting to that loss. Plus, there are so many other aspects to his daily living situation that are big adjustments for him - and by extension, for us, particularly, my kids.
Two of those kids helped out in what was needed to help him yesterday. By the time the 3 of us returned home very late last night the mood was somber. WE are used to the challenges faced with disability issues, in particular with mobility issues that he is just beginning to realize. It was sad to watch him struggle and really notice that there are some things he will no longer be able to do, at least not in the way he's grown accustomed to over the years.
I think back to all the years he avoided knowing about the various "special needs" of our kids, all the time he wasted really getting to know them because he didn't want to face their realities: neuro-motor issues, strokes, heart defects, stuff that affected how they learned, how they walked, how they talked, and ultimately how they each grew up taking on challenges that the majority of their peers would never have to face - doing so with grace, dignity, and determination. X certainly missed a lot.
Is it "karma" or "fate" or "some divine providence" that is now subjecting him to the many of the very same challenges his kids faced early on in their lives? While none of them actually lost a limb, some did have huge issues getting those limbs to work; and the brain issues... while not caused by the same thing the challenge of making weak or non-working areas of the brain either work or find an area to pick up the slack was still present.
It's interesting to contemplate - is it "payback" time for X in all the ways he treated us? Will helping him be like 'heaping hot coals' upon him when he realizes that the very ones he hurt so deeply are the only ones helping him out now? Will it make a difference? Will he have a change of heart - a real, true, change that results in him being a nicer, more compassionate person in the long run?

365 ~ DAY 285
So can I keep this going?
Today I was reminded of something I felt was quite profound at the time; is it still?
A well known man once said, "Your time is limited so don't waste it living someone else's life." I think he has a valid point! How often do we do something because of someone else? Our time IS limited! It doesn't matter who we are we all have the same amount of time in a day. As much as many of us might wish we had another hour or two at the end of our day, nothing we do is ever really going to give us 25 hours in a day.
When we are very young we often take our direction in life from our parents. Right or wrong. Good or bad. With or without purpose. Be they doctors, lawyers, nurses, teachers, bricklayers, business leaders, sales-persons, technicians, store clerks, criminals, deadbeats, writers, artists ... well, you get the idea ... the list is endless. But the fact remains that our parents are usually the first people to influence what we plan to do with our lives. Very often we end up in our given profession because in some way it makes them happy. We love them so want to please them.
What happens when it doesn't work that way?
When you find that you aren't really happy doing that? Or maybe you finally realize that you just are not very good at doing that? Do you keep doing it now because it's all you know? It's what they want? Is that right? How long can someone go on in life not feeling like what they do matters? If you feel like that then what's the point? Where's the value?
So I get what this man is saying... we each only have so much time - in a day - in a week - a year - a lifetime. We each need to not waste it living only for someone else's goals and desires!
Some of you may know I've been trying to build my own business from home. I've been wondering why it's been so hard for me. It's worked well, and quite fast even, for many before me. Something has been 'blocking' me in some way. It occurred to me recently that I am my own worst enemy! For my business to go where I want it to go, I need to get out of my own way! I need to let go of all those 'voices in my head' from all those people I have believed I needed to make happy and stop being so concerned about their opinions of what I'm doing, or want to do!
Interesting fact: I've spent a lot of time 'trying' to please my parents, my husband, even others and still success there eludes me!
Clearly it is time to change!!!

365 ~ DAY 284
Changing your life is not an easy thing! I've had decades of practice! What about you?
Even simple changes can be tough. Right now I'm working on changing how I access this blog. Last week my power cord for the laptop I've depended upon for close to 3 years died, quit working, stopped charging the battery; eventually the battery died and thus the end of said laptop! :-( So, thanks to the generosity of my daughters, I'm making use of "tiny tablets" which are about half or less the size of my laptop screen. The keyboard changes are irritating too. And don't even get me started on pictures! I have 5 gigs of pics stuck on that laptop!
BUT...
I DO NOT GIVE UP!!! As much as there is a part of me that WANTS to just give up... I'm tired of things going wrong in my life!
Just take a look at this blog! HA! I totally planned on writing every single day for 365 days! I've done, what? 5 days? 6? LOL
Will things be any different now? Will I continue blogging daily?
Time will tell, I guess. :-)

365 ~ DAY 283
A lot can happen in 280 days! Some of those things that stand out ... selling a car, buying another vehicle, X leaving town, X coming back, losing a leg to a flesh-eating bacteria, sellng another car, going from no job to 2 jobs, learning how NOT to build a business, keeping my hopes and dreams alive!!!
Recently, I was reminded of how much work goes into being poor. When someone no longer has a job or a place to live and has just suffered a tremendous loss getting help to get your life back on track is a lot of hard work! You have multiple applications to complete and submit to the proper entity (person, place, office, agency, etc.). Then there are numerous phone calls back and forth with all of those contacs and the new ones they will refer you to, not to mention all those calls to people you know who might know of a job or a place to live for you to call and check on. While keeping up with all of that you have to cope with your constant depression from all you've lost recently. If you have no income you really can't pay for any help either. Your very survival is at the mercy of others. How do you keep going?
And so I find myself doing what little I can to help out someone who has previously hurt me and all of my kids in ways we will never forget! WHY?
What would Jesus do if faced with my situation?

365 ~ Day 3
Well I have managed to stick to my 10-minutes a day plan for 3 days in a row!
Does that count as 3 steps? ;-)
Working hard to keep this mindset!
You would not believe all the stuff getting in my way -
so many things, so many people, so much stuff
trying, trying, trying to keep me from sticking with this
10-minutes a day goal!
But I won't let it keep me from missing a day!
I won't!
I am going to be SO FOCUSED!
I'm going to be absolutely stuck on following one course until it's successful!
And after that one is successful then I will begin another!

365~Day2
10-minutes! 2 days in a row!
There were many things that almost kept it from happening!
But I reminded myself that I'm working on staying away from the negative people in my life.
I focused on staying positive.
I didn't let any of those "things" keep me from doing this one thing for just 10 minutes today!
I had to deal with a lot of reminders of my past today.
They aren't pretty!
People don't have a worst past (like mine) and pull away from it with any smiles!
But I love the rainbow of colors in this graphic, almost as much as I love what it says!
Sometimes
people with the worst pasts
end up
creating the best futures!
I AM NOW CREATING MY BEST FUTURE!

BEEN A LONG, LONG TIME...
After more than two years I am returning to BLOGGER!
Today, Sunday, October 20, 2013 I am beginning a new plan. All I can really say about it is that it takes just TEN MINUTES A DAY!
My plan involves being consistent with this 10-minutes every single day for 365 days.
My hope is that I will also stop in here and write something about it each day.
But enough of that... 2 years is a long, long time in the life of a blogger. There's not room enough, nor time enough to fill you in on everything that's happened in the last 2 years. It wasn't what I wanted (most). It wasn't what I planned (at all). It was exciting (lots of times). It was full of life-changing events (quite often). It is now in the past (thank goodness)!!!
Sometimes, many times, we can learn from our past. Yes, I did learn a few things. Will I share my new-found knowledge with you, dear readers? Only time will tell. ;-)
Since I'm more or less starting over and I expect new readers to stop by I will share a little of myself in this post. The biggest part of my life is taken up being a MOM... of six grown children now ranging in age from almost 22 years old up to 31 years old. Five girls, one boy; none married yet, no grandkids yet, 2 seem to have possibly found their "one true love" and 4 are or have been to college. Not bad for a mom who's done it solo almost all of their lives (but that's for another time to tell). :)

It wasn't what I wanted (most). It wasn't what I planned (at all). It was exciting (lots of times). It was full of life-changing events (quite often). It is now in the past (thank goodness)!!!
For now, so long, see you tomorrow!

Purpose - Schmurpose!
Purpose
– schmurpose! LOL 20 days down and I've spent most of it rather
down … but not quite out... due to some of life's unexpected
troubles. :( The damages are reversing, healing, returning to
normal, slowly. But, as usual, it's not going to stop me from moving
toward my goals!
And
I am still moving ahead WITH PURPOSE! I am determined that even
starting my business month 33% behind (so to speak) will not keep me
from building my business!
Same
for SPARKnEarthlyBest – no progress to report, but no backsliding
either!
On
the green front... we are doing LOTS BETTER at eating REAL FOODS! I
found a few new blogs to follow in this effort of avoiding processed
foods more:
If
you have any interest at all in eating less processed foods, more
organic foods, or more local foods you may find one or all of these
very helpful! :)
And
with ANDEE365 – Wow! Have we been 'thru the ringer' and then some!
It wasn't fun. It wasn't pretty. It wasn't supposed to happen this
way. :( However, we have had some extensive family discussions
about the things that have happened and the things that could yet
happen. These have resulted in a number of things improving around
here. But there are still some “issues” to resolve ~ aren't there
always such things in large families? LOL So, we move ahead! We go
forward WITH PURPOSE! We take stock of where we are at; where we
want to go; and which path(s) we want to take to get there.
I
do have to say this: In the last 20 days I've talked to a number of
locals and met some really nice people! This makes me look forward
even more to what's ahead as I seek out more and more of the people
of my little town and help them understand what a wonderful thing I
have for them with my company! :) There are lots of hard-working
folks around here who are barely getting by and really struggling to
find that “something” that will help them get to the next check,
help them get to feeling better so they can do more to meet their
families' needs, and give them hope for a brighter future. Before
long they will all know! I can't wait to share what I have with all
of them!!!
I
close with this:
"Your
time is limited so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't
be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other
people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out
your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow
your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly
want to become. Everything else is secondary."

100 Days With A Purpose!
Today,
Tuesday, September 20, 2011 marks yet another beginning for me...
and
my family! (little do they know – hehehe)
It's
the start of a 100 day countdown to a better life – for all of us!
For Andee365 it will become a test to see how much can be accomplished in 100 days! We are all working at ways to gain self-sufficiency;
to reach that point where there is no need to depend upon others for that which we need. We need to find another house
– perhaps to buy –
maybe even out in the country
where we are more free to adjust our lives to living more on our own
and less dependent upon what others provide.
No, we won't move anytime soon – unless we are given a miracle or two. ;-)
But we will build up our resources,
cut down our wastes,
fine tune our wants,
and – in 100 days –
find ourselves in a better place in many ways. :)
For
All My Earthly Best it's moving forward in becoming GREENER and more
completely self-sufficient. This project is ongoing with no
foreseeable end as it is my opinion that one can ALWAYS improve upon
any given circumstance or situation. But – for 100 days I plan to
increase focus on a few matters that will directly impact our
environment for the better!
For
SPARKnEarthlyBest it's continuing my quest to lose 100 pounds. Yeah,
a year has come and gone and I didn't meet that goal. :( I am
however 50 pounds lighter – so there is clear and definite
progress! Ultimately I will be eating 100% whole foods and
absolutely nothing commercially processed or produced. This journey
will not really ever end either as all of us, until we can gain
perfection, will always have some aspect of our health to improve
upon. Given all that – let's just see where we are at in 100 days!
There
is a Bible verse that states:
“Whatever
you are doing, work at it whole-souled, as to Jehovah, and not to
men.” Colossians 3:23 NWT
“Whatever
you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not
human masters.” Colossians 3:23 NIV
“Work
willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord
rather than for people.” Colossians 3:23 NLT
However
it is stated, the idea is the same: whatever it is you are doing (so
not just things you do that are specifically religious in nature), do
that work in the best way and mood possible (give it everything
you've got and give it joyfully), just as if you were being asked by
God, himself (by the most supreme being in the universe) to get that
task done.
As
a Bible Student I take this very seriously.
I realize that in this
regard too, there is always room for improvement.
So this next 100
days as I work towards a better life by making specific,
focused
efforts in several areas of life, simultaneously
I will do so
“whole-heartedly” and “gladly” and
with my best possible
efforts
regardless of the obstacles and challenges
that are put in
front of me!
One
of the key factors that will allow me to accomplish these goals
begins here: www.andee.ecomomteam.com
and if you wish to know more on that just
fill in the “Request
Info” form and submit it to me. :)
The
next 100 days I am DOING WITH A PURPOSE!

Picking Up the Pace
Picking Up The Pace! but first a few picks from January's visit to the Milwaukee area :) |
Lake Michigan on a cold winter's day!
Breaking waves on snowy shores.
Ice "on the Rocks" lol
On the rocks, taking a closer look at the waves
Frozen surf!
This makes me miss the west coast so much!
Now, that's a lot of ice!
Looks like there's a storm brewing too!
Water is so amazing!
I love it!
Calming
Soothing
Cleansing
Definitely something I need more of! ;-)
This is THE WEEK that we get my sister moved out of her apartment and back in with us!
Today we're setting up a loft bed in one room; a twin over full futon bunk bed in another room; and decluttering another room to add in a weight bench. Once those are all in place we return to our work on the office/craft/sewing area ~ which is getting a major overhaul to accommodate many changes so I can use it daily in my business.
One big difference my new business is bringing for me is greater mobility. It's not yet anywhere close to full mobility again; but it is beginning to reverse and thus I'm seeing an increase in mobility. That is allowing me to sit at a desk more often now so instead of working from my bed I'm going to be working from a desk again!
There is definitely something good about absorbing more and better nutrition and removing as much toxins from the body and from the environment around you... and it's beginning to show a difference in my life that we all hope will make even better differences in the coming months!!!

Chocolates
"Life is like a box of chocolates!"
"Families are like fudge;
mostly sweet with a few nuts."
And so it goes here...
Life IS like a box of chocolates - there's a little bit of everything going on inside. Mostly it's good. But now and then you get something you don't like. :-P
Thus the families like fudge quote. :)
We are embarking on yet more changes around here. Not necessarily changes we want.
Still, they are necessary.
Sometimes one must make the best of such changes with the attitude that 'this too shall pass' or that 'this is only temporary' or some other such coping phrase.
For nearly a year my sister and my niece left us to venture living on their own. My niece has been back here for several weeks now; and my sister will be moved back in within the month. Along these same lines; my 25yo daughter is closer to moving out into her own place - possibly in a few months; and my son plans on moving out either in 4 months or 8 months.
In other family news:
My 22yo daughter is graduating from college!
UW-LAX graduation day is May 14, 2011.
My 9yo niece is performing her dance recital!
MeLisa's DanceArt Studios recital day is May 14, 2011.
Assorted graduation (from high school mostly, some from college) parties begin
MAY 14, 2011
and continue
May 21, 2011
May 28, 2011
June 4, 2011
June 11, 2011
(This is also the weekend for
Sparta's Butterfest
June 18, 2011
(Oh, and also on June 18th -
FAMILY REUNION - my mom's side;
MOST (Mother's of SuperTwins) Family Fun Day
June 25, 2011
And the whole first weekend of July is booked up too!!
My niece should be done with school this year by the 10th of June ~ then she'll be with me all day long until Sep 1st again.
Busy, Busy, Busy!
There's also work, work, work!
Study; Classes; Teaching; Ministry;
and so on and on and on!

Day 001 - Redo, Restart, Recycle?
Hwy 16 & Hwy 121 - at the start of winter 2010-2011 WELCOME to TOMAH!
Reduce, reuse, recycle!
Often heard words around my place.
We strive hard not to waste anything.
We stay very busy - every single day.
I'm not even going to try to catch up!
I last posted about Day 60 - late too!
Now it's well over 60 days past that day!
Sooooooo.......
Today's blog is a REDO,
a RESTART,
or you can look at it as being
RECYCLED
(as in cycle starting over)
LOL
DAY 001
March 1, 2011
We STILL have snow on the ground!
The groundhog way over in PA says
winter is nearly done,
it won't be long before we see spring;
even WI's own groundhog, Jimmy, agreed!
NOTE: we had blizzard conditions that day!
We began winter ahead of schedule with
2 feet of snow from our 1st blizzard
(and snowfall) of the season.
We continued to get snowed upon
every few days!
The mounds of white stuff grew
all over town.
The plows worked hard to move it all
out of our roadways.
But our mailbox has been all but
buried for weeks
(we've dug out a spot for the mail truck)
(and kept the side with the red flag cleared);
had weeks where we can't see our neighbors
(because the mounds are so high);
and times when the snowfall's so heavy
even the plow's can't get through
for not just hours but whole days!
Yet we held out hope!
We knew spring would eventually come.
We even got hopeful that Phil & Jimmy
were right on cue...
The middle of February
brought mild temps,
melting snow,
glimpses of the lake waters,
puddles and small ponds in the roads
instead of packed snow,
sunshine to warm it all.
We were even seeing
(after nearly 4 feet of snow disappeared)
bits of green
(yes, GREEN - it was still green when
that first blizzard hit us, way back when)
GRASS!!!!!!
And even tiny, little buds on
assorted trees and bushes!
YUP! It sure seemed like SPRING
WAS JUST AROUND THE BEND!
And then about a week or so ago
we got another blizzard!!!
I've lost count how many this season!
I think everyone has!
Now, amounts vary - a lot! - but...
at my place we measured 15 more inches
from that last blizzard!!!
Whatever was nearly free of snow
is now completely buried again!
:(
The good news is
at least we're staying above zero
since the groundhogs'
had their say!

060 ~ Laundry
Saturday - Dec 18th -
busy day with Dany here, kids gone,
and so many plans to accomplish...
beginning with Sis & Dany's laundry!
Dany helped to sort it - all seven loads of it!
Once the first load was dry we pretty much
spent the rest of the day doing laundry!
Sis arrived, after work,
with one load washing,
one load drying,
two loads finished
(folded and waiting to go home with them)
and three loads yet to dry.
Our washer has always been faster than our dryer.
lol
Right before Sis arrived at my place
I discovered my washer had finally died.
That's been a process in the works for several weeks now...
we knew it was coming...
but we all were wishing and hoping that it would not happen
until my Melaleuca business was bringing in more money.
But's it's late - and I'm beat -
so not going to mess with this problem tonight!
The only pic I have for today...
my favorite flowers :)
